The Ypsilanti Township Parks and Recreation System consists of thirty parks and recreation facilities totaling over 890 acres. Over the past several years, the Township has added literally hundreds of acres of park land and trails to the system. Each year, the parks department works hard maintaining and renovating existing facilities and adding new landscaping and park equipment to the system. The need for community involvement throughout our park system is greater than ever. Here is a wonderful opportunity for you to get involved in your community in a very meaningful way. Two exciting programs have been developed allowing you to make a positive difference to your extensive park system.

Our Neat Environment

It only takes ONE to lead and be different. You could be that ONE! Our community needs you! What can you, your group, your social organization, business/company, neighborhood watch group do? Be different, start a movement, get involved, and give back to our community through the “Our Neat Environment” ONE program. HOW?

• Adopt a portion of a roadside or non-motorized pathway
• Adopt a park by picking up trash and being eyes and ears
• Do a service project in a park … an hour or two, a half day, you choose what works

For the ONE program to be successful we need YOU! Don’t be afraid to swim against the current and get involved. The Ypsilanti Township Park Commission looks forward to recognizing you or your group for your participation with ONE.

The Park Commission has developed a program allowing our community to support their favorite park by purchasing a gift that will not only add beauty to the park, but will also bring pleasure to park goers for many years to come.
