Fire Education Photo 2Fire Education PhotoThe Fire Department offers a variety of programs which can be presented to most any type of group, for example school or church groups, youth camps, neighborhood groups or any other service group. Our Public Education Demos are flexible and can be modified to suit any group.

Fire safety is extremely important for both our youth and adults. It is vital that everyone understand how to prevent a fire and how to properly react in the event a fire does start. The Fire Department provides education services to the community to ensure that residents understand proper procedures and rules for safety.

The Department provides various support services to the residents. Public Education is a very important part of our job. Each year we visit area schools and educate the kids in fire safety. We also attend the Neighborhood Watch meetings and work closely with the Sheriff's Department and neighborhood groups.

Community Engagement

Edu EventThis is a sneak peek video of a Keith Famie production, Chromosomally Enhanced. Nine community members with down syndrome came together to pull a 33,000 pound Yankee Lady B-17 Bomber for the film. The Plane Pull was the climatic final scene of the film with a collaboration of civic organizations, former pro athletes, and public safety agencies supporting this noble initiative at historic Willow Run airport in Ypsilanti Township.
