Elected as a Trustee in 2016 

Monica Ross Williams

Monica Ross-Williams has lived in Ypsilanti Township since 2001. She is starting her first elected term on the Board of Trustees and was previously an Ypsilanti Township Park Commissioner from 2011 - 2016.

Monica enjoys walking in our Township parks, specifically to enjoy the nature perspective of our parks landscape and the community's beautiful neighborhoods as well as expanding non-motorized transportation options throughout Ypsilanti Township.

She received a Masters in Organizational Leadership (M.B.A.) from Cleary University, Bachelors of Business Administration (B.B.A.) from the same institution, and graduate of former Ypsilanti Public Schools. In addition, to being small business owner, Monica serves as a Community Relations Manager for a Nationally based healthcare services provider.

As it relates to civic engagement, Monica served as the former Elected Executive Board Recording Secretary for the The New West Willow Neighborhood Association (501.c.3) 2003-2009, the organizations’ Political Advisory Chair 2009-2011, and remains an Member since 2001.

Currently, Monica serves as the Ypsilanti Township Policy Committee Chair, Washtenaw Area Transportation Study Term 2016-2020, Commissioner, Ypsilanti Township Elections Committee Term 2016-2020, Board Member, Board of Directors - Ann Arbor Area YMCA, Treasurer, Cleary University Alumni Executive Board, Treasurer, Eastern Washtenaw Democratic Club, Member, National Business League - Metro Detroit Region, Dues Member, National Writers Union - UAW Local 1981AFL-CIO, Former Member - SEMCOG Parks and Recreation Task Force Term 2017 - 18 and Former Member - SEMCOG Future Skills Task Force 2018-19.

Her goal as a Trustee is to place residents needs first, while striving to move the Ypsilanti Township forward by fostering sound economic and financial growth within the Township.
