Roadside Cleanup/Maintenance

This position is responsible for roadside clean up of litter throughout Ypsilanti Township. This job is for hardworking individuals that want to help beautify the Township. Duties of this position
require individuals to perform physical labor in possible conditions of extreme heat and inclement weather. Duties may also require you to help in parks on the weekends as well.

These are seasonal (not permanent) positions. Schedules & hours can vary depending upon weather conditions. Work hours will be days, weekends, and holidays. Some positions maystart in March or April. Some positions may end in September or continue into November. Must be 18 years old and have current valid driver’s license with good driving record.

Pay: $20.00 per hour
Dates: March - November

PARK OPERATION STAFF

Park Ranger

Responsibilities include patrolling and surveillance of the Townships park system; enforcement of park rules and ordinances; park security; supervision of park attendants; public relations; light maintenance.  The park system is staffed seven days/week, dawn to dusk (weekday evenings and weekends).  We are looking for someone with experience in security and a background in parks & recreation and/or law enforcement.  Desirable skills include strong public relations and conflict resolution.  Experience in a park setting is desirable.  Minimum 18 years old. Must have valid Driver’s License with good driving record.

Pay: $13.00 – $15.00 per hour
Dates: May – Labor Day weekend
Number of positions available: 3-4

Park Attendants

Responsibilities include public relations; monitor park capacity; collect park entry fees; monitor boat launch; park patrol; light maintenance.  The park system is staffed seven days/week, dawn to dusk.  Skills include experience in handling money; keeping financial records; public relations; experience working with the public.  Minimum 16 years old.

Pay: $11.00- $13.00 per hour
Dates: Mid-May – Labor Day weekend
Number of positions available: 12-16

Park/Ground Maintenance 

This position is responsible for parks and grounds maintenance throughout Ypsilanti Township. Duties of this position require individual to perform physical labor in possible conditions of extreme heat and inclement weather. Experience in the operation of grounds equipment (hand tools, landscape tools, weed whip, lawn mower, etc.); operation of large area mowers desirable; these are seasonal (not permanent) positions.  Schedules & hours can vary depending upon weather conditions.  Work hours will be days, weekends, and holidays.  Some positions may start in March or April.  Some positions may end in September or continue into November.  Must be 18 years old and have current valid driver’s license with good driving record. 

Pay: Starts at $15.00 per hour
Dates: March - November

GOLF COURSE STAFF

Golf Course Laborer I

Green Oaks Golf Course is currently accepting seasonal applications to fill current openings for golf course laborer I and golf course laborer II positions.

Essential job functions: Primary responsibilities include assisting with daily ground maintenance in order to keep the golf course healthy and thriving. Other duties include raking leaves, picking up trash and debris, removing cuttings. Must have the ability to perform physical labor in conditions of extreme heat and inclement weather. Minimum 16 years old.

Pay: $13.00/hour
Dates: March 15th - November 15th  (start dates may vary and depend on the weather)

Golf Course Laborer II

Green Oaks Golf Course is currently accepting seasonal applications to fill current openings for golf course laborer I and golf course laborer II positions.

Essential Job Functions: Primary responsibilities include assisting with daily ground maintenance in order to keep the golf course healthy and thriving. Other duties include maintenance of the greens fairways and rough utilizing hand and power tools. Qualified individuals must be able to safely operate grounds equipment (lawn mower, weed whip, etc.) and have the ability to perform physical labor in conditions of extreme heat and inclement weather. Minimum 18 years old. Must have a valid Driver’s License with a good driving record.

Pay: $15.00/hour
Dates: March 15th - November 15th  (start dates may vary and depend on the weather)
Approx Hours per Week: 25-38hours

Golf Shop Attendants

Green Oaks is seeking individuals that are happy, friendly, have a positive attitude, and are detailed and customer service oriented.

Essential Job Functions:  Assist with daily pro shop operations including opening and closing the golf shop, interacting with guests during their visit, answering phone calls for tee times, and providing general golf course information.  Experience with computers and registers preferred but not required.  Applicants must be available and willing to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays. Minimum 18 years old. Must have a valid Driver’s License with a good driving record.

Pay: $10.50 - $12.50/hour
Dates: March 15th – November 15th (start dates may vary and depend on the weather)
Number of positions available: 2-3

Golf Cart Attendants

Green Oaks is seeking individuals that are enthusiastic, self-starting and customer service oriented.

Essential Job Functions: Primarily responsible with the delivery, staging, cleanliness, and storing of the golf cart fleet. Deliver and promote prompt, courteous and friendly service to all guests. Duties will also include preserving the upkeep of outside areas, and assisting the pro shop staff when needed with other general assignments.  Applicants must be available and willing to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays. Minimum 15 years old.

Pay: $10.25 - $11.00/hour
Dates: March 15th - November 15th  (start dates may vary and depend on the weather)

Player Assistants/Starters

Green Oaks is seeking individuals that are happy, friendly, and customer service oriented.

Essential Job Functions:  Primarily responsible for monitoring the proper pace of play of players on the course, and observe that patrons are adhering to proper cart and golf course rules at all times.  As a starter, assists the golf shop by making sure that golfers are teeing off in an orderly and timely manner.  May assist with outside outings or events as needed, and help to keep the golf course clean by disposing of trash or debris. Minimum 18 years old. Must have a valid Driver’s License with a good driving record.

Pay: $10.25 - $11.00/hour
