This Saturday, May 7th, 2022, 9am-Noon, there will be a free paper shredding event located at 7200 S. Huron Dr. Ypsilanti, MI 48197 in the Ypsilanti Township Civic Center Parking lot. 

This is a “first-come-first serve” event. When the truck is full, the event will close even if earlier than Noon. Be prepared to wait, this service is popular and will get a lot of participation.

This service provides a secure document destruction that is open to Ypsilanti Township residents only. Proof of residency is required.

There is a maximum of three boxes or 100 pounds accepted per household. No limit to the size of the boxes/bags, but you must be able to lift them out of your vehicle unassisted. Staples, binder clips, paper clips and rubber bands do not need to be removed. Bring sensitive information to be shredded, including confidential documents, check stubs, bank statements, credit card offers and old tax records. Shredding is an effective tool against identity theft and managing important documents.
