Civic Center w Address

In observance of the Christmas and New Year Holidays, Ypsilanti Township Civic Center Offices will be closed Thursday, December 24, 2020 - Friday, January 1, 2021. Regular hours resume Monday, January 4, 2021 from 8:30am - 4:30pm (Closed 12:00pm - 1:00pm for lunch daily).

 

The Community Center will be closed Thursday, December 24, 2020 - Friday, January 1, 2021. Regular hours resume Monday, January 4, 2021 from 8:00am - 8:00pm (front desk closed 12:00pm - 1:00pm for lunch daily).

As a result of the extension to the latest emergency order and Pause to Save Lives released by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, all Ypsilanti Township Civic Center and Community Center services will be available for in-person meetings only through pre-scheduled appointments until Monday, January 11, 2021. 14B District Court will be closed Thursday, December 24, 2020 & Friday, December 25, 2020 for Christmas and Thursday, December 31, 2020 & Friday, January 1, 2021 for the New Year. Regular hours are Monday - Friday from 8:00am - 4:30pm.

 

REMINDER: 2020 Winter Taxes are due by Tuesday, February 16, 2021.

Residents may make summer and winter tax payments (starting December 1st) by utilizing the following options:

  • Drop-box: Hand-drop your payments in the drop box located at the Township Civic Center (7200 S. Huron River Drive). Receipts will be emailed to you (if an email is provided) or mailed to you.
  • Online: How to Make a Tax Payment
  • Local Bank Payments (Winter tax payment ONLY):
    • Any Ypsilanti branch of the Washtenaw Federal Credit Union or Bank of Ann Arbor. Payments must be made in full and include the top portion of your bill.

 

REMINDER: For New Year’s Eve 2020, fireworks are permitted Thursday, December 31, 2020 11:00am - 1:00am on Friday, January 1, 2021.

Fireworks violations can be reported to the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office by calling (734) 994 - 2911 for non-emergency police service. Please include details about the location of the source of the fireworks violation to ensure the violator is more likely to be found.

 

Curbside Services

Friday routes will be on a ONE-DAY DELAY for the following holidays:

No collection on Christmas Day, Friday, December 25, 2020.

No collection on New Year's Day, Friday, January 1, 2021.

If your normal collection day is Friday, collection will occur on Saturday. There will be no delay in Curbside Services (Trash, Recycling) for Monday - Thursday routes.

Double-Up & Bulk Item Collection

As a reminder, the double-up trash collection scheduled for December 28, 2020 - January 2, 2021 is CANCELLED. There will be NO double-up days scheduled in 2021.

Each week you are still allowed one bulk item, however under the new contract, you must contact WM 48 hours in advance (before your trash day) for ANY Bulk Collection.

The months of December-March, Christmas trees will be collected by the WM bulk truck and will not be counted as your one-weekly bulk item. However, you must contact WM by email or phone, 48-hours in advance of your trash day to schedule removal of your Christmas tree.

Christmas trees that are taller than 6’ must be cut in half and placed next to your WM trash cart no later than 6:00am on your collection day.

Christmas trees brought to the Compost Site for chipping (free of charge for Ypsilanti Township residents) must have all decorations removed: Lights, tinsel, garland, ornaments and tree stand.

 

Compost Site

Yard Waste Collection has ended for the season and will begin again in April 2020.

Residents of residential dwellings in Ypsilanti Township may also dispose of yard waste, brush, and branches (free of charge within size limit of less than 1' in diameter) at the Compost Site.

 

The Compost Site (2600 E Clark Rd) will be OPEN Saturday, December 26, 2020 from 9:00am - 4:00pm.

The Compost Site is currently open on Saturdays ONLY from 9:00am - 4:00pm for the winter season.
