Winter Property Tax Bills are mailed out December 1st and are due February 14th.
On February 15th, a 3% penalty is added to all unpaid summer and winter property taxes. Payment must be received by the due date to avoid interest and penalty. Postmarks are NOT honored.
On March 1st, all unpaid real property taxes are transferred to the Washtenaw County Treasurer’s Office as delinquent. Contact the Washtenaw County Treasurer’s Office at (734) 222-6600 for balance due.
On November 15, 2022, the Ypsilanti Township Board of Trustees unanimously approved a Real Estate Purchase Agreement between the Township and Aldi Inc. On Wednesday, December 21, 2022, the Purchase Ageement with Aldi Inc. was finalized and has been fully executed.
This sale of Township-owned property (2.53 acres) located at 1420 S. Huron Street will bring another high quality grocery store and increased tax base to Ypsilanti Township. The addition of Aldi will greatly benefit those who live, work and shop in the Township, with their focus on sustainability and competitive prices. In addition, Aldi Inc. has made the construction of this new Aldi store a “High Priority” and it is anticipated this store will be open by Thanksgiving of 2023.
