COVID-19 Update: Residential Services

AlertYpsilanti Township Offices are CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC until further notice.

Employees will be available by phone or email at this time. If this changes, we will provide updates.

There are currently NO EXPECTED DELAYS in curbside trash, recycling, and brush/chipping collection schedules.

UPDATE: Beginning Monday, April 6, 2020, as part of their response to the COVID-19 pandemic and to keep their staff safe, Waste Management will be suspending yard waste and bulk item collection until further notice. Tags/stickers for additional containers or bags will not be distributed during this time.
Please remove excess trash and bulk items from the curb. Excess trash and bulk items placed at the curb outside of the regular curbside collection schedule is considered to be blight and is subject to code enforcement, including removal at the property owner's expense. This practice adds to environmental blight and detracts from the appearance of neighborhoods. The Township continues to work with Waste Management through this pandemic period in hopes to resume normal operation as soon as possible.

The Compost Site will remain OPEN to the public on Saturdays 9:00am - 4:00pm.

Beginning April 6th:
Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm
Saturday 9:00am - 4:00pm

2600 E. Clark Rd.
734-482-6681

Logo DTETwo-thirds of the time DTE customers are without power is due to trees. Tree trimming is a common sense solution to prevent outages from happening in the first place. The process for trimming trees is designed to foster communication and collaboration with customers every step of the way.

DTE is committed to communicating with you each step of the way through the tree trimming process.

Here's what to expect:

Before trimming, DTE will send you a letter letting you know they will be in the area.

Shortly after, planners will assess your neighborhood and create a trimming plan.

If trimming is needed on your property, DTE will knock on your door and leave a door hanger describing the necessary trimming. Your planner will leave his or her contact information to answer any questions you may have regarding the work planned for your property.

If a tree poses a serious hazard to the power lines, and/or if trimming will damage the tree's health, it may need to be removed. These trees will be marked with two white dots. In this instance, planners will make every effort to contact you to discuss the removal. After your tree removal permit is signed, planners will mark the tree with a white "X" indicating it is ready for removal.

Due to many varying factors, tree trimming schedules are sometimes changed or delayed. In this event, DTE will do their best to inform you of those changes.
