Election InspectorNew voting devices are coming to all Washtenaw County polling locations. You’re invited to try the County’s new ballot tabulator and accessible device that enables all voters, including those with disabilities, to mark ballots privately and independently. Attendees will be able to mark and cast a demonstration ballot. This accessible ballot marking device includes an audio ballot reader and accommodates adaptive devices such as a sip-and-puff. County Clerk’s office staff will be present to answer questions. The new system will continue to use optical scan paper ballots, which can always be recounted by hand.

New supplemental materials for Election Inspector Training that will cover important information pertaining to the Hart equipment. Election Inspectors should hold on to their current Election Inspector Manuals to reference Election Day procedures until the next version of the manual is produced (with the addition of the Hart equipment information).
