Collection occurs weekly. Items must be placed within 4’ of the roadway by 6:00am on collection day and no earlier than 6:00pm on the day before. Any remaining items must be removed by 6:00am on the day after collection.

Each home may set out three 32-gallon trash containers and one bulk item per week; couch, chair, mattress/box springs, dresser, microwave, TV, etc., or a 96-gallon toter cart and one bulk item.
Containers must be 32-gallon size trash cans (not weighing more than 50 pounds each) and/or three plastic bags (not weighing more than 30 pounds each). Trash containers over 32-gallon size will not be collected except for pre-paid 96-gal Waste Management toter; no fabricated containers, drums or cardboard boxes allowed and bags inside of cans are not to be packed or overflowing from can and/or sitting on top of lid. For safety reasons, lids on cans must not be chained and/or attached to side of can.
If you choose to use the 96-gallon Waste Management toter carts, you are not allowed any additional cans.
If you have more than three containers, you may purchase a $1.50 tag in advance; one tag is required per extra container or bag. Trash tags may not be duplicated/tampered with to fit two or more bags. Additional trash bags are not allowed with 96-gallon toter carts.
Schedule your extra bulk items, ALL freon, & ALL white good items with your credit/debit card by contacting Waste Management in advance at (866) 797 - 9018. No sales through Township Offices.
If you have more than one bulk item contact Waste Management in advance to schedule pick-up on your trash day and to schedule payment (credit or debit).
ALL White goods contact Waste Management in advance to schedule pick-up and to schedule payment (credit or debit); dishwasher, stove, washer, dryer, wall oven or water heater.
ALL Freon goods contact Waste Management in advance to schedule pick-up and to schedule payment (credit or debit); refrigerator, freezer, de-humidifier or air conditioner. For safety reasons, a refrigerator or freezer must have the doors removed and placed next to item at the curb.

The Civic Center is closed from 12:00pm - 1:00pm daily.

Acceptable Trash Items Properly Prepared:
Wood pieces must be properly prepared; May not exceed 4' in length, nails must be removed or pounded flat, tied in a bundle at both ends (use duct tape or twine) and not weighing more than 50 pounds per bundle. One bundle of wood is a bulk item.
Carpet/pad must be properly prepared; may not exceed 4' in length or 8" in diameter, tied in a bundle at both ends (use duct tape or twine) not weighing more than 40 pounds per bundle. One bundle of carpet is a bulk item.
Paint cans (Latex only) must be properly prepared. Remove the paint can lid and place in the trash. Fill paint cans to the rim with kitty litter, sawdust or sand and stir until hardened; paint must be completely dried. Place cans on the ground next to your trash bags or cans.
Household (alkaline) batteries
Unacceptable Trash Items:
Gasoline, tires, automotive oil, car/truck parts, hazardous waste items (Washtenaw County Home Toxics Reduction Center), construction/roofing debris, fencing, railroad ties, large pieces of wood, drywall, yard waste, tree stumps, concrete, bricks, landscaping blocks and oil-based paints.
