Consumer fireworks are prohibited by local ordinance on any day of the year which is not a national holiday, the day before a national holiday, or the day after a national holiday.
Fireworks violations can be reported to the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office by calling 994-2911 for non-emergency police service.
A violation of the fireworks ordinance is a misdemeanor punishable by a $500 fine and/or 90 days in jail.
State law permits fireworks until midnight (12:00am) for the following holidays, except for New Year's Eve night; permitted until 1:00am. Fireworks are PROHIBITED between the hours of 12:00am (1:00am New Year's Eve) and 8:00am.
Use of fireworks in parks, on public streets, or school property is prohibited - private property only.
Ignition/use/discharging while intoxicated is prohibited.
Sales to minors is prohibited.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day (Observed on the 3rd Monday of January; Fireworks Permitted Sunday, Monday & Tuesday)
Washington’s Birthday/President's Day (Observed on the 3rd Monday of February; Fireworks Permitted Sunday, Monday & Tuesday)
Memorial Day (Observed on the last Monday of May; Fireworks Permitted Sunday, Monday & Tuesday)
Independence Day (Fireworks Permitted July 3rd, 4th & 5th)
Labor Day (Observed on the 1st Monday of September; Fireworks Permitted Sunday, Monday & Tuesday)
Columbus Day (Observed on the 2nd Monday of October; Fireworks Permitted Sunday, Monday & Tuesday)
Veterans Day (Fireworks Permitted November 10th, 11th & 12th)
Thanksgiving Day (Observed on the 4th Thursday of November; Fireworks Permitted Wednesday, Thursday & Friday)
Christmas Day (Fireworks Permitted December 24th, 25th & 26th)
