Unreasonably loud noise destroys the peace and tranquility of neighborhoods. In many cases, the source is an audio system or "boom box" installed in a motor vehicle. The Noise Ordinance prohibits noise from loud car stereos that is plainly audible from inside a house or building, or plainly audible outdoors 50' or more from the source. Noise violations may be reported by calling the Noise Hotline or by use our online report form. Please provide the following information:
The date, time and location of the offense.
A description of the vehicle including make, model, color, and license plate number.
A description of the vehicle operator including his/her name, if known.
If police response is required for loud or out of hand parties, please dial POLICE NON-EMERGENCY (734) 994 - 2911.
