Police Services are provided by the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office under a contract with the Charter Township of Ypsilanti. Ypsilanti Township contracts for 35 Police Service Units (PSU) which consist of 35 sheriff's deputies, 5 sergeants and 1 lieutenant.
Police Services Administrator Mike Radzik manages the budget for the police services contract and coordinates the efforts of the Sheriff's Office with the Township's Office of Community Standards. Director Radzik also acts as a liaison between Township residents and the Sheriff's Office and assists with decisions about resource allocation.
Residents are encouraged to sign up to receive electronic Nixle Crime Alerts from the Sheriff's Office and to keep informed about crime in your neighborhood with the Crime Mapping feature available online.
