Park Operation Staff

Park Ranger
Responsibilities include patrolling and surveillance of the Townships park system; enforcement of park rules and ordinances; park security; supervision of park attendants; public relations; light maintenance. The park system is staffed seven days/week, dawn to dusk (weekday evenings and weekends). We are looking for someone with experience in security and a background in parks & recreation and/or law enforcement. Desirable skills include strong public relations and conflict resolution. Experience in a park setting is desirable. Minimum 18 years old.

Pay: $11.00 – $14.00 per hour
Dates: May – Labor Day weekend

Park Attendants
Responsibilities include public relations; monitor park capacity; collect park entry fees; monitor boat launch; park patrol; light maintenance. The park system is staffed seven days/week, dawn to dusk. Skills include experience in handling money; keeping financial records; public relations; experience working with the public. Minimum 16 years old.

Pay: $9.00 - $9.50 per hour
Dates: Mid-May – Labor Day weekend

Park/Ground Maintenance
This position is responsible for parks and grounds maintenance throughout Ypsilanti Township. Duties of this position require individual to perform physical labor in possible conditions of extreme heat and inclement weather. Experience in the operation of grounds equipment (hand tools, landscape tools, weed whip, lawn mower, etc.); operation of brush chippers and large area mowers desirable; these are seasonal (not permanent) positions. Schedules & hours can vary depending upon weather conditions. Work hours will be days, weekends, and holidays. Some positions may start in March or April. Some positions may end in September or continue into November. Must be 18 years old and have current valid driver’s license with good driving record.

Pay: $10.00 - $11.00 per hour
Dates: March - November

Golf Course Staff

Golf Shop Attendants
Assist with daily pro-shop operations including greeting guest prior to their round of golf and upon completion of their round; answer calls for tee times, rates and general information. May assist with execution of club tournaments and other outings and events. Candidates should have a positive attitude and be customer service oriented. Experience with computers and registers preferred but not required. Must be willing to work evenings and weekends.

Pay: $9.50 - $10.50/hour
Dates: March 15th – November 15th (Start Dates may vary and depend on the weather)

Golf Cart Attendants
Individuals will be primarily responsible for maintaining outside areas of the pro-shop. Duties: Greet guest when they arrive and assist with carrying golf bags as well as loading the golf carts; detailing, cleaning and filling up carts with gas; monitor and log any damage to cart fleet daily; maintain outside appearance of staging area by picking up loose trash and debris. May assist with execution of club tournaments and other outings and events.

Pay: $9.00 - $9.50/hour
Dates: April - November 15th (Start Dates may vary and depend on the weather)

Player Assistants/Starters
Primarily responsible for monitoring the golfers on the golf course ensuring that cart path rules are followed while on course and that guests are teeing off in a timely manner. May assist with execution of club tournaments other outings and events. Dispose of any trash or debris on the golf course

Pay: $9.00 - $9.50/hour

Golf Course Laborer
Assist with daily ground maintenance keeping course healthy and thriving. Rake leaves, picking up trash, trimming trees and removing cuttings. Assist with irrigation problems. Safely operate grounds equipment (weed whip, lawn mower, etc.). Individual should have ability to perform physical labor in conditions of extreme heat and inclement weather.

Pay: $9.50/hour
