Just say yes to working the polls on Election Day!
Election inspectors and chairpersons are selected for each election. If you are selected to work an election, you must attend a mandatory certification class and commit to working from approximately 6:00am until approximately 10:00pm - 11:00pm on Election Day. Chairpersons are paid $13.00 per hour and Election Inspectors are paid $12.00 an hour.
The State of MIchigan mandates that elections can only be held on the lst Tuesday in May, August and November following the 1st Tuesday in each of these months.
To have your application considered, complete the Election Inspector Application and included I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification Form; complete the included MI-W4 Withholding Form if you wish to have Federal and State taxes withheld from your pay and mail or hand-deliver to the Clerk’s office at 7200 S. Huron River Drive, Ypsilanti, MI.
