Rosie the Riveter symbolizes all women of the 1940's who forged a new pathway to contribute mightily to the defense of America during World War Two. Best known are women entered the industrial workforce and made armaments that helped the Allies. Some women became pilots who ferried aircraft to distant bases for the Army Air Forces to take into combat. Some became nurses and helped in medical facilities here and overseas. All sacrificed through rationed supplies and untold worries for loved ones. All women left their comfort zone to do something bigger, than they could imagine, to help a noble cause.
