Aquatic Invasive Species: Purple Loosestrife

Color Logo Charter Township of Ypsilanti A Community of Opportunity

Loosestrife Image 2Loosestrife Image 1The Township is continuing their efforts to educate property owners around Ford Lake about the invasive plant called Purple Loosestrife. Purple Loosestrife continues to spread and overtime this invasive plant will choke out native plants.

Please help in controlling this plant along the shoreline of your property. Digging up the plants, cutting or hand pulling are effective ways but this process may have to be repeated from time to time. We do appreciate your help in this endeavor to keep the native plants alive.
